Today’s show – director Nassim Soleimanpour discusses theatre-going in Iran today and his journey towards writing one of the most unique plays at LIFT theatre festival this year – White Rabbit, Red Rabbit. For this play, which has been performed before abroad but never in England until this month, different actors read the play blind to the audience each night, where there are neither director, rehearsals, nor set. Listening to Nassim explain what it’s like using the internet from Iran to hustle international performances for his work, and to even find out where and when it is being performed, the symbolism of the play’s delivery takes on more and more meaning. Lined up for performance are: comedians Mark Watson and Tom Basden, as well as eminent actors Juliet Stevenson, Janet Suzman and Tamsin Greig.
Catch Nassim at 13.30 GMT, repeating Sunday 20.30 on 104.4FM on your transistor radio or on www.resonancefm.com/listen
