New Podcast – Passion of Rhythm, Trance of Melody

Farshad Mohammadi discusses classical Persian music in light of his London concert “Passion of Rhythm, Trance of Melody”, featuring world-renowned master vocalist, Alireza Ghorbani.

Ghorbani, born in 1972 in Tehran, Iran, began his career by reciting the Islamic holy book Quran. Since then Ghorbani was the vocalist for Iran’s National Orchestra for many years and has taken part in prominent Festivals and concerts inside and outside Iran, gaining him the renown he now boasts.

Also performing were percussionists, Yusuf Mahmoud: Tabla, Hamid Ghanbary: Tonbak, previous Six Pillars guest Hussein Zahawy: Dayereh and Daf, accompanying composer and Santur maestro, Farshad Mohammadi and The Baran Ensemble.
