The third in our series of new music from Iran. Tehran, 2013 a lively scene of ambient electronics, soundscape and experiment is spreading as musicians teach themselves software online, while tapping into sounds from abroad.
On today’s show artists are Mohammad Reza Mortazavi, Sohrab, Nima Pourkarimi (Umchunga), Hamed Kasaei and Hadi Bastani (iO). Produced and presented by Bastani, as was part II, this episode features the most jaw-dropping acoustic piece of percussive drum which sounds as if it were produced entirely on a computer, instead of being a recording of skin on skin.
