London Calling showcases the outstanding contemporary poetry of 3 languages widely spoken in London: Arabic, Persian and Somali in an event celebrating the publication of My Voice: A Decade of Poems from The Poetry Translation Centre.

Poet in the City presents a series of events which showcases some of the most exciting new and established voices in poetry from the UK and abroad in the Bowler Hat. These events will throw a fresh and surprising spotlight on city life and London living. Acclaimed International poets, new rising stars, and some of the UK’s best performance poets, will come together in a unique celebration of the power of words. Come and experience London through lyrical eyes.
The Bowler Hat
Since the City of London Festival started in 1962, several impressive orchestral concerts have been staged under the dome of St Paul’s – providing audiences with wonderful and unique acoustics; the Bowler Hat will continue this tradition, providing a new dome with its own unique acoustics in the shadow of St Paul’s Cathedral. The venue, an impressive 435sqm bespoke inflatable home for children’s theatre, circus, cabaret and comedy in the shape of a 3-storey high bowler hat, designed to sit in Paternoster Square from 23 June until 19 July.
