Currently Watching….Anahita Abbasi

anglesThis contemporary classical piece “Zavaya” was written for the Omnibus Ensemble in 2012 by Austrian-Iranian composer Anahita Abbasi. It premiered within a new program at the Tongyeong International Music Festival, South Korea in March 2012.
Zavaya  is a term for geometric angles in the Persian language.  Thus the music in this piece is an imaginary conversation between the mathematics of varying angles, projected into our world with sounds.
