Broadcast: Shubbak Festival with Dima Matta and Aïcha El Beloui

A look at certain events going on in July for Shubbak, the Arab festival of arts and entertainment. Writer and artist Prof. Dima Matta performs at the Gate Theatre, Notting Hill as part of Two Bold Works on Queerness on Thursday 4th July. Matta’s piece This Is Not A Memorised Script, This Is A Well-Rehearsed Story explores her queer existence in relation to Beirut.

Plus illustrator & graphic designer Aïcha El Beloui visits London to research the psychogeography & history of Moroccan immigration for a psychogeographic paper map and travelling installation across the city, and the British Library.
