17th Online Middle Eastern arts platform Ibraaz discuss their forthcoming Symposium at the Tate “Future Imperfect”. Joining Tate Curator of Public Programmes at Tate Modern & Tate Britain Nora Razian is Ibraaz Editor Anthony Downey and Omar Kholeif, writer in the studio. Downey is also Director of the Contemporary Art Masters Programme at Sotheby’s Institute of Art. Omar Kholeif, who also curates, has had a pioneering role in developing Arabic arts on a global scene. 


7000 records and 6000 audio tapes 1903 onwards are being digitised by the AMAR Foundation, Lebanon. Businessman, Kamal Kassar collects music to prevent it from decay and make it as available to the public. In November the Amar Foundation release an impressive 4 cd set by Egyptian singer, Abd Al-Hayy Hilmi.

London based Iranian composer and conductor Mehrdad Farid previews the Collaborative Orchestra’s most collaborative performance: with renowned Iranian guitarist Lilly Ashfar. Farhid is joined in the studio by Bryan Pepper, Manager and driving force of the Collaborative Orchestra.
